I love your page! It turned out really good and has a lot of really good information. I wish I had someone like you when I had my 3 children. I am definitely going to use a doula/midwife if I have any more though!

I did not write it, I got it from the website "BirthingNaturally.net" - but I agree with you. It's very plainly and frankly written which is wonderful. People need to understand that natural birth doesn't necessarily mean "painful birth".

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave some love here! <3

Hi there. I'm not sure when you wrote this but it's really good, plainly-worded and full of common sense. Thank you! I had a lovely natural childbirth in a hospital and I often talk to friends who respond to my natural childbirth with stuff like "wow, you must have a really high tolerance for pain." In addition to the stories we see on TV (and in stand up comedy) where childbirth is portrayed as a painful emergency, some women who haven't prepared for it, or are told by providers they have to stay in bed, or both, use their own painful and possibly scary experience as a comparison to how it must be for a woman who gives birth without drugs the entire time. I don't mean to sound arrogant when I say "haven't prepared," either. I only mention it in the sense that I think successful preparation has to include a mom learning to trust her body and move around, etc. If you don't know to do this, AND are hearing doctor / nurse tell you that you have to stay in bed, you probably aren't going to manage the feelings of labor well.

I had no problem having a natural childbirth. And I don't think I "got lucky," either. If more people prepared for a natural childbirth (and stuck with a truly supportive provider) I truly believe my experience would be the norm.
