The Crowning Lotus mission is to help parents enjoy and celebrate their journey into parenthood by providing complete physical, emotional and educational support to pre and postnatal women of West Michigan with a focus on the greater Grand Rapids and Lakeshore areas. Helping women believe and trust in their abilities to deliver their babies safely and to be fully educated in their options so they are better able to make the decisions that best suit their needs and wishes.

Crowning Lotus bEARTH Doula services include:
- Complete access to our experience and knowledge as a pregnancy, birthing, breastfeeding and baby expert.
- Free 1 hour consultation
- Free service to teen mothers (18 and under)
- Constant E mail, text and phone contact for questions, concerns and support -AND- E mail or phone visits throughout entire pregnancy until 2-4 weeks postpartum
- Pregnancy, Childbirth and Postpartum education
- 2-3 personal prenatal visits / 1-2 Postpartum visits (or more if needed)
- Access to a lending library of books and information
- Assistance in finding the right health care provider (if needed)
- Help in creating and understanding your birth plan & hospital policies
- On call 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after due date
- Complete labor and delivery support for you (and your partner) through the entire process
- Reiki Master Skills
- Help in over coming anxiety and fear about birth and parenting
- Practice in visualization, breathing and meditation technique
- Knowledge of positions to alleviate pain and discomfort
- Knowledge and practice of massage technique and light acupressure

- Connections to local resources for support and services
What We Will NOT Do:
- I will not advocate for you, I will educate and encourage you to advocate for yourself. Having an outsider advocate for you is not going to empower you.
- Stand between you and your health care provider or your partner. I believe in the birthing team as a whole and will trust that you have chosen the right caregiver(s) for the kind of birth that you want.
- Doulas do not do anything medical. We will not check your dialation, blood pressure, administer medications or even suggest medications to take. I may suggest something that you can ask your doctor about, but you should always consult your provider first.
- I will not judge you. Regardless of your background, age, relationship status and sexuality, job, religion or non-religion. We support any decision you make because it is an informed and well considered decision.
